BIO

Anna-Beatrice Claxton is an animator based in London. She specialises in 2D animation which often contains expressive physical movements. Her passion for body movement comes from her experience in dance when she was younger. This gave her a deeper understanding and love for human physics. The love she had for drawing and dancing soon became a passion in life drawing. Her work is often dark, simple and quiet, which is influenced by her love for gothic horror. In other areas, she practices editing. The art of editing was first introduced to her by the Japanese animator/director Satoshi Kon. Anna-Beatrice’s editing technique focuses on the characters movements and creating a flow between cuts.

Before moving to London, Anna-Beatrice was born in Tokyo, Japan and was raised until she graduated High school. She studied Illustration FAD in Central Saint Martins and is now studying Illustration Animation BA in Kingston School of Art. Here she learnt how to animate in 2D animation and digital animation. Experimental life drawing and Vienna exchange program taught by Martin Morris has influenced her animation style from more Japanese anime style that she was used to, to more expressive and bold one.
